Thousands gathered for the opening of the Oceanview, a striking new seven-story waterfront religious retreat overlooking Clearwater Bay, created to serve parishioners arriving for advanced religious services at the Church’s international spiritual headquarters—Flag.
Set against a golden sunset, the Saturday evening dedication of the Oceanview drew a crowd of Scientologists and guests, marking the latest chapter in a sustained period of global expansion. Just steps from the Advanced Organization on the shores of Clearwater Bay, the Oceanview offers a refined, distraction-free setting for parishioners undertaking spiritual study and auditing (spiritual counseling).
Originally constructed in 1958 as Clearwater’s first waterfront apartment residence of its kind, the building—then known as the Belvedere—has been fully reimagined as a residential retreat.
The Oceanview comprises 20 suites, ranging from one- to three-bedroom accommodations, including two penthouses, each designed for individuals and families on long-term stays. Interiors feature hand-selected finishes and tailored details, with reclaimed white oak flooring, Italian marble and more than 120 works of custom art.
Living spaces flow seamlessly throughout the property, extending to an open-air lobby overlooking the bay and a shaded gazebo. Nearby, hammocks sway in the coastal breeze beneath a grand oak rising alongside the seven-story retreat.
Within this setting, the Oceanview provides an ideal, distraction-free environment and an immediate connection to the Advanced Organization as parishioners ascend the Scientology Bridge to Total Freedom.
The dedication marks yet another step in the ongoing expansion of the Church’s spiritual headquarters and continues the vision as set forth by L. Ron Hubbard: “The best on the planet is waiting for you at Flag.”
