The state-of-the-art, 185,000-square-foot Church of Scientology International Dissemination and Distribution Center in Los Angeles, designed to meet the unprecedented demand for Scientology services and programs by providing dissemination materials on a global scale.
The reception of the Dissemination and Distribution Center, which produces publications and other dissemination materials for the more than 9,000 Scientology Churches, Missions and affiliated groups.
The on-site conference room, for the planning of publication and distribution through the international network of Scientology Organizations and sponsored groups.
The only one of its kind, the International Dissemination and Distribution Center houses cutting-edge technology honed to maximum output.
The 121-ton web press uses 10-mile-long paper rolls and can print 55,000 pages per hour, in more than a dozen languages.
With its ability to rapidly reconfigure for new jobs, the web press can print more than 600,000 pieces each day, in every language required for the global dissemination of Scientology and its sponsored programs.
Moving from the web and sheetfed presses through the bindery, tens of thousands of pages of magazines and other publications can be produced daily in multiple languages to make the Scientology religion broadly known.
On the printing floor, color quality and alignment is checked and perfected on each promotional piece coming out of the sheetfed press.
With equipment handling every function from printing to cutting, folding, binding and sorting, the Center can prepare 250,000 human rights DVD mailers in a day, or two million booklets in a week.
The Center’s printing facilities produce magazines, brochures, booklets, portfolios and other printed pieces for Scientology Churches and affiliated groups around the world.
The superwide-format printer and banner welder can create banners large enough to span the face of high-rise buildings, for broadscale dissemination of Church-sponsored social betterment campaigns, such as the Truth About Drugs program.
The facility includes a full division to equip every Church with ideal audiovisual systems for their bookstores, seminar rooms and film rooms, ensuring the best sight and sound quality.
Housed within the Center, the Scientology Custom Mill features a broad array of tools required for the creation of all signage and other elements of an Ideal Organization of Scientology including woodworking equipment, metal-etching and cutting machines, painting and polishing booths, a plastics molding system and in-house artisans to give each new Ideal Church its distinctive style.
Every creed, code, and Chapel cross that line the walls of Ideal Scientology Organizations can now be created in-house in the Church’s Custom Mill.
One machine in the Church’s Custom Mill can cut virtually any pattern into glass, stone or plastic, as well as steel up to 6 inches thick. In this way, custom design elements unique to each Ideal Church Organization are created at the new Dissemination and Distribution Center.
