Hollywood Education & Literacy Project (HELP)
From a single center in Hollywood in 1997, the Hollywood Education and Literacy Project (H.E.L.P.) has expanded to an international program with several dozen centers around the world. Relying primarily on volunteer tutors, the HELP program delivers more than 1000 hours of tutoring each week.
Key to H.E.L.P.s success lies in its use of L. Ron Hubbards Study Technology. Tutors who work in the program are trained extensively in the use of these materials. H.E.L..P. has a carefully
worked out line-up of study materials which are used to take the student − whether child or adult and whether facile or illiterate in English − to new levels of learning.
In recognition of its successful mentoring and tutoring programs, the HELP center, based in Hollywood, receives funding from the State of Californias Youth Mentoring Initiative and other sources which has enabled it to provide services to community youth and adults at no charge.
