Church of Scientology San Francisco
On November 29, 2003 the new Church of Scientology San Francisco was opened. Located at the crossroads of Columbus, Washington and Montgomery Streets in the original Transamerica Building, the Church was formally welcomed to the city by a crowd of 2,500 supporters and dignitaries. Among the local officials was Mayor Willie Brown who presented the Church with a proclamation which stated, in part, “the Church of Scientology San Francisco [is to] be congratulated for its expansion into new headquarters, commended for its efforts in making the Bay Area a better place for persons of all races, colors, creeds and walks of life.
