Church of Scientology Choir will sing its Prayer For Peace on Kcet
The Church of Scientology Choir will perform in the 45th Annual Los Angeles County Holiday Celebration on December 24th at 6:40 p.m., broadcast live from the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion through Southern and Central California on KCET, Channel 28. The program is hosted by Henry Winkler this year and includes over 1,000 performers in a wide variety of music, song and dance celebrating the joy of the season.
John Kimmich, director of the Church of Scientology Choir, is the composer of Prayer for Peace, one of the songs being performed by the choir this Christmas Eve. The lyrics embody the spirit of Scientology parishioners, who participate in church-sponsored activities that range from helping disaster victims to campaigning for human rights in all areas of the globe.
The Church of Scientology Choir has performed widely, including appearances with Neil Diamond on his HBO Christmas Special, on “Hello Santa” recorded by the Wilson Sisters, and under the direction of movie score composer John Williams in the performance of his composition for the Young Musician’s Foundation Awards Banquet at the Beverly Hilton.
In the words of Bobbi Brunoehler, one of the choir members, “I love feeling that singing is a valid contribution to the enhancement of the world.“ Some of the choir members have been performing with the choir for twenty years. The choir is regularly heard at local church services, graduation ceremonies, memorial services, celebrations and community events such as Winter Wonderland in Hollywood.
Those wishing to hear the Church of Scientology Choir and other artists at the Los Angeles County Holiday Celebration in the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion on December 24th are invited to attend. No tickets or reservations are required, and parking is free. The Dorothy Chandler Pavilion is located at 135 North Grand Avenue in Los Angeles. Doors open at 2:30 p.m.
