The classic style and warm character of the building will be retained in all decor, and the historical nature and integrity of the building will be fully preserved.
The ground floor will house all public information activities, including a permanent exhibition on What is Scientology? so that the public can get their questions answered about the Church, or just visit out of interest or to satisfy their curiosity. Visitors can also view films about the religion, including an interview of the religions founder, L. Ron Hubbard. They can also take any of a number of introductory services if they are interested in knowing more about Scientology for themselves.
The ground floor will also house a large public meeting and event facility that can be used for large Sunday Services, weddings or public benefit events.
The community will also be accommodated with conference rooms and the office of the Church president where meetings will help increase interaction between the Church and others in addressing areas of common concern.
Other floors will house the Church bookstore, library and reading room, offices for public registration and church membership activities, as well as all administrative offices.
Two floors will be devoted to the central practices of the Scientology religion: ministerial training and auditing (from the Latin word audire meaning to listen), a unique form of personal counseling which enables an individual to increase his awareness and understanding of his spiritual nature and thus improve conditions in life. Auditing is administered by an auditor, a minister precisely trained in exact methods of the counseling found only in the Scientology religion. In training, Scientologists gain a thorough understanding of the religious philosophy and basic principles of Scientology, and learn to help others one-on-one with an actual spiritual technology that has a broad and practical application to all aspects of life.
The building will also house facilities for the Purification Program. L. Ron Hubbard discovered that drugs and toxins are retained in the bodys fat even years after being taken. They diminish vitality, perception, learning rate and even alter personality and hinder spiritual advancement. Mr. Hubbard developed the Purification Program to rid a person of these residues and their effects. Undertaken after a complete medical checkup, it employs a regimen of exercise, sauna, vitamins and minerals to flush drug residues from the body, and plenty of good nutrition along with rest. Hundreds of thousands of individuals worldwide have completed the program and attested to a great increase in awareness, perceptions and vitality.
Public tours of the building will be available on the Churchs opening, currently scheduled for the end of May 2003.
