SCIENTOLOGY VOLUNTEER MINISTERS DISASTER RELIEF IN QUEENSLAND, AUSTRALIA

Scientology Volunteer Ministers helping area residents secure their homes from the rain
|
Saturday, March 25th — Scientology Volunteer Ministers from Brisbane and Sydney are in Innisfail, Queensland, helping in the aftermath of Cyclone Larry — the strongest cyclone ever to hit Australia’s shores. Working with the army, local officials and non-profit groups they are providing trauma relief, assisting people to repair their homes, distributing supplies and helping those left homeless by the storm.
The Department of Housing asked the Volunteer Ministers to help at a refugee center at the TAFE (Technical and Further Education) college, where some of those left homeless are distraught, and in shock. The Volunteer Ministers are providing Scientology “assists” to them — techniques developed by Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard that address the spiritual factors in shock and emotional trauma. They have also begun providing assists at the Volunteer Ministers tent, currently set up in the middle of the city.
The police asked the Volunteer Ministers to take over the running of another hall where they are relocating those whose homes have sustained too much damage to be safe.
Finding that there has been no relief provided to outlying areas such as Merrilone, South Johnston, Silkwood, Curramine and Mission Beach, the Volunteer Ministers have also been locating people with trailers and trucks to get shipments of food and bedding to these towns.
