SCIENTOLOGY VOLUNTEER MINISTERS DISASTER RELIEF IN QUEENSLAND, AUSTRALIA
Volunteer Minister Report from Innisfail
of 24th March, 2006
Scientology Volunteer Ministers from Brisbane and Sydney are on the ground in the areas in Far North Queensland affected by Cyclone Larry, where they are assisting with the cleanup effort

Here is a recent report from the Volunteer Ministers on the ground.
Scientology Volunteer Ministers are coordinating with local officials on the ground in Far North Queensland to provide the help needed to get the area back on its feet.
On the night of the 23 March, five days after the cyclone, the outlying areas of Mission Beach and Bingle Bay still had no disaster relief. So a team of the Volunteer Ministers headed out to see what was needed there. Finding that local residents were most concerned about practical help to put tarps on house roofs and provide fuel and chainsaws to clear debris, they set to work to provide these services.
Many people have wanted to help but officials have been too busy coping with the immediate disaster to make use of their skills. Therefore the Volunteer Ministers have taken on coordinating volunteers, ensuring they have their own housing, training them and putting them to work. There is a lot of manual labor needed — chopping down the trees and doing all the various tasks to clean up the area. Much more help is needed.
