The Human Rights Department of the Church of Scientology International has created a new web site as part of its mission—to make Human Rights a reality.
“There are many courageous, dedicated people working in this field” said Leisa Goodman, Human Rights Director of the Church of Scientology International. “We believe that all of us working together can make this happen.”
“This is what inspired the creation of this web site;” Ms. Goodman went on to say, “to be a resource and forum to unite and strengthen what all of us are doing to protect and guarantee human rights for all peoples of Earth, and to acknowledge those who are making a difference and support them in their work.”
Human rights are defined as “the basic rights and freedoms to which all humans are entitled, often held to include the right to life and liberty, freedom of thought and expression, and equality before the law.”
The Scientology religion is based on a belief in human rights and man’s basic goodness, and the Creed of the Church of Scientology reflects this.
There is tremendous agreement and public support for human rights, but most people do not know what their rights are.
This is why the Church of Scientology International has embarked on a major information campaign, educating youth and adults on the Universal Declaration of Human Rights to increase public awareness and understanding of this vital subject.
The Church of Scientology International Human Rights Newsroom and Forum welcomes articles on human rights topics and invites those interested in reviewing and editing articles submitted for publication on the website to apply to become guest editors.
The Human Rights Newsroom and Forum also encourages visitors to submit recommendations for people who should be recognized as a “Human Rights Advocate,” which it plans to award on a monthly basis.
