SCIENTOLOGY VOLUNTEER MINISTERS BRING THE MESSAGE THAT “SOMETHING CAN BE DONE ABOUT IT”

Looking at the daily news of crime, war and misfortune, one can begin to feel that the world is out of control, or not a very good place to live. In 2001 the Volunteer Ministers of the Churches of Scientology took upon themselves the task of turning this around by getting out the message on all channels that “something can be done about it,” that help is possible and the world can be made a better place.

The campaign was prompted in part by the sudden and devastating effects of the World Trade Center disaster in New York on September 11th. Since then, Scientology Volunteer Ministers have placed their message of hope and effectiveness on 6,700 billboards in large metropolitan areas reaching seventy-five million people. In 2002 and 2003, there were eight traveling Volunteer Minister tents and displays in Europe, which visited 59 cities and helped 283,000 people. In 2004, the Scientology Volunteer Minister cavalcade toured 62 states and countries, bringing help in 1,011 cities and towns and reaching 550,000 people.

In a Volunteer Minister tent one can find out about effective solutions available for the full spectrum of problems facing mankind, from social unrest to marital discord. One can sit down and begin studying right in the tent, or receive an introductory counseling session or an assist for illness or injury.

Why do Scientology Volunteer Ministers spend so much time and effort to enlighten others on their work and elicit help in effectively handling disasters, unrest and crime in the world? The answer is simple. L. Ron Hubbard, Scientology’s founder, stated, “A civilization without insanity, without criminals and without war, where the able can prosper and honest beings can have rights, and where man is free to rise to greater heights, are the aims of Scientology.” All of the solutions taught and implemented by Volunteer Ministers are directed toward the achievement of these aims.

Officials from around the world have recognized and encouraged the work of Volunteer Ministers; the Mayor of Liers, a suburb in Brussels, invited Volunteer Ministers to put their tent in front of City Hall after learning about the technology they use to assist others.

The Tampa City Council in Tampa, Florida presented a commendation for 300 Volunteer Ministers for over 12,000 hours they dedicated to assisting the community during the worst hurricane season in decades last summer.
