“I procured L. Ron Hubbard books from the United Kingdom, and our close friends from the New Jersey Mission, Richard and Karin Beatty, helped us to plan and execute the trip to Calcutta. We were excited — we had no idea what we would face over the next ten days.”

“When the fair was over, we had sold an over 400 books, and the buyers of those books wanted more information. They also wanted a place to go where they could receive Dianetics training and counselling. In short, we knew we had to open a mission.

“I organized a Dianetics lecture so these four hundred book buyers could learn more about Dianetics. We then organized a Dianetics seminar. After the seminar, we started the first Hubbard Dianetics Auditor course and by the time I was ready to leave Calcutta, these people were committed to continue with Dianetics counselling.

“On our return to Calcutta we put together the staff for the Mission, and soon we had four Hubbard Dianetics Auditors delivering auditing on a regular basis.”

“At the grand opening more than 100 people crammed through the front doors, and over 30 people immediately signed up and started their first Dianetics service.”
