INTERFAITH CONFERENCE LIVES UP TO ITS NAME
We live in an interfaith world. ... [I]ts difficult to navigate in this world, but we must learn to do so, said Rabbi Steven Jacobs on the campus of UCLA Wednesday.
Rabbi Jacobs remarks were part of a worship service closing a 4-day conference of the National Association of Ecumenical and Inter-Religious Staff.
The conference and the closing ceremonies illustrated the truth of the We live in an interfaith world theme. Conference participants came from some 50 denominations and from every region of the United States. On Sunday they toured the Church of Scientology of Los Angeles and attended a church service conducted by Church of Scientology International President Heber C. Jentzsch.
Participating in Wednesdays closing ceremonies were Rev. Frank Wulf, a United Methodist minister serving UCLA, who read from the Christian Bible; Salam Al-Maray ati, executive director of the Muslim Public Affairs Council, reading passages from the Quran; and Rev. Jentzsch of the Church of Scientology International, who read from How to Resolve Conflicts by Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard.
