Bill of Rights Education - Fundamental to Responsible Citizenship

In an article written in 1969, the founder of the Scientology religion, L. Ron Hubbard wrote: “Almost all the trouble in a country is the government through its employees acting in a thoroughly unconstitutional fashion.”
It is up to the individual citizen to insist that the rights guaranteed by the Constitution and Bill of Rights are enforced. But to do this one would have to understand these rights.
This is what has inspired Scientologist Gary Konigsberg to create the Center for a More Perfect Union and launch a web site that makes the original documents expressing these rights available on the Net. The purpose of this organization is to enable citizens to safeguard their rights and freedoms by first learning about them and then taking action to preserve and defend them as necessary.
Now Konigsberg is taking this project to the next level - a series of classes on the Bill of Rights, to be held at the Way to Happiness Foundation International in Glendale beginning in February 2005.
The Way to Happiness Foundation located in Glendale, California, prints and distributes the popular booklet written by L. Ron Hubbard, The Way to Happiness. One of the precepts in the booklet states, “Support a government designed and run for all the people,” and points out that, “If one is interested in having a better government, one that does not cause trouble, one should suggest it be taught at earlier ages in schools; one can also read up on it: it is not a very difficult subject if you look up the big words.”
Konigsberg has planned a series of weekly classes that will explore each of the first ten amendments to the Constitution in detail. Practical application outside of class is part of the learning experience.
